Global Resource Masters Fund Limited is an investment company that employs a “fund of funds” or multi-manager style of investment.

The Company was established to provide Australian investors with the opportunity to gain access to leading global fund products and managers specialising in the natural resources sector therefore allowing investors to benefit from the long-term compelling market dynamics and attractive return opportunities of the sector.

The “fund of funds” or multi-manager style of investment is based on investing in a range of underlying funds to build a diversified investment portfolio that aims to provide consistent, long-term performance. “Fund of funds” investment managers seek to blend specialist investment funds from around the world that provide the most attractive investment profiles in their fields of investment.

By spreading investments across a group of fund managers rather than a single manager, investors in a “fund of funds” receive the benefit of the expertise of the managers of the underlying funds in which the Company takes positions while seeking to achieve greater diversification than usually offered by traditional diversified funds.

The approach is designed to enable investors to enhance diversification, reduce risk and access leading global specialist fund managers while minimising the administrative burden and providing for ease of contact and reporting via a single point of contact.

The Manager

The investments of Global Resource Masters Fund Limited will be managed by Dixon Advisory & Superannuation Services Pty Limited

The primary role of the Manager is to:

Construct the initial portfolio of investments.
Review information, research and analysis with respect to ongoing monitoring of the underlying portfolio and make any required adjustments.
Ensure the cash component of the portfolio is managed and in the most appropriate account.

The officer of the Manager with primary responsibility for the portfolio is Alex MacLachlan.

Investment Committee

The Investment Committee comprises of Maximilian Walsh, Alex MacLachlan and Nirav Desai. All directors are entitled to attend all meetings of the Investment Committee. Maximilian Walsh, in his capacity as Chairman of the Investment Committee, will have a casting vote.

The primary role of the Investment Committee is to:

Review information, research and analysis compiled by the Manager with respect to economic conditions, equity markets, fund managers and funds in the global natural resources sector.
Determine the allocation of the Company’s capital in terms of investment in various funds.

The Investment Committee convenes fortnightly to discuss matters including the global economic outlook, global equity market conditions in the sector, any developments with the underlying funds in which the Company has invested in as well as new fund investment opportunities.
